About the Badger Hunting Club

History

Founded in 2005 by a small group of college hunters looking for hunting opportunities in the Madison area, the Badger Hunting Club has grown to over 40 active members.  It is a non-profit Resident Student Organization that brings hunters from the community together to serve the community through game management and to protect the future of Wisconsin's hunting tradition.

Community

As an organization, we are committed to improving our community and preserving hunting for future generations.  We are active participants in the Agricultural Deer Damage Program, a program offered through the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources with the purpose of curbing farmer’s operating losses due to deer over-browsing.  In the spring we will be offering Hunter Education in order to grow the Wisconsin hunting tradition.  Dates and location will be posted on the DNR website.  We also work with the UW Police department to provide gun storage for students residing in resident halls, in order to insure campus safety.

Sponsors

As we are composed of financially strapped college students, we are always looking for sponsors as a way to finance and grow our club.  Please visit our sponsors page for information on current sponsors.
